Masks: Uberman's Wake

When we were writing Masks, we decided that we really needed to test our theories about Super Heroic combat. In two weeks, Jim MacDougal, with some help from Tad Pierson, wrote 25 more fully-realized characters, put them in a bar, and gave them reasons to start fights. Little did we realize that Jim had written the most popular mini-game that Barking Mad Productions has ever staged.

We've run Uberman's Wake five times ... once as a combat test, several times as a party LARP, and most recently as a fund raiser for a group in the DC area known as the Whitman-Walker Clinic.

We lost a very good friend to AIDS during the 1997 Labor Day Holiday: John Manzer. John played in almost every event we ever ran. We wanted to do something meaningful in John's memory, so Barking Mad Productions decided to run a game in John's memory and donate all the proceeds to the Whitman-Walker Clinic, which helped John in dealing with his disease.
